Scrambling Squares of San Diego

We know you've heard that before from so many groups. But for us it is actually true! And it is not a "solo" rotation. What we do really works! You really do not need a partner. If you have one, that's okay too!

Throughout each tip any individual not dancing can tag-in. Yes, we really do run our dances this way. We truly care that no one has to sit around being bored. We want everyone at the dance to have a good time.

Well sometimes short breaks, but only really short breaks. We are here to have fun square dancing!

Yes, that's right. T-shirts and shorts are perfect. If you do wear "traditional" square dance clothes, of course you won't be stopped at the door. After all there is no dress code!

Boys can dance the boys' or girls' part, girls can dance the girls' or boys' part, boys can dance together, girls can dance together, it doesn't matter as long as you are having fun!

One of our goals is to bring live music back to the dance. If there is a break in the dancing, sometimes our caller plays a fiddle. "Ranch Party" played for our Nov'05 party, "The Good Ol' Western Boys" played for our Mar'06 party, "Cliff Note and the Cheaters" played for our Oct'06 party, and "The Body Snatchers" played for our very special Mar'07 Contra Dance party! Though just started, Scrambling Squares has already had much more live music for modern western square dancing than all other San Diego County groups put together!

Already our group is run totally differently from just about any other square dance club. And we are open to more new ideas and suggestions. Just let us know what you want!
